How to Use PD Ruler?

Pupillary Distance (PD)

Pupillary distance (PD) measures the distance between the centers of your pupils. This measurement is used to determine where you look through the lens of your glasses and should be as accurate as possible in millimeters.

Steps to Measure Pupillary Distance (PD)

Place yourself an arm's length away from your friend, or about 8 inches (20 cm) away from the mirror yourself.

Close your left eye and align the 0 mm scale with the center of the pupil of your right eye. You can hold the ruler against your forehead for stability.

Then close your right eye and read the number of ticks directly above the pupil of your left eye. This is your PD.

* Please note that the average PD values range from 54 mm to 78 mm. There may be some variation compared to actual measurements, so please measure your PD 2-3 times to ensure you get an accurate value.
